After staging a rebound in the previous quarter, single quarter revenues for telecom network operators (telcos) continued an upward march in 4Q23 by growing at a modest rate of 1.7% YoY to post $445.3 billion. The consistent rise among European operators including BT, Orange, Telecom Italia, Telefonica, and Deutsche Telekom helped elevate telco industry growth. Another factor was China Mobile, whose cloud and 5G enterprise segments fueled its topline growth - China Mobile Cloud registered 65.6% YoY growth in 2023, while its 5G DICT (data, information and communications technology) projects grew by 30.1% during the year.
